2015 Volkswagen Golf

VW never tire of revamping their ultra-ubiquitous Golf, freshening it up for a new generation of buyers every few years. This model availed of some subtle changes such as LED lights and a chrome strip across the front to distinguish it from previous incarnations. But it is still quintessentially a Golf and that means it is extremely practical. As such, there is plenty of head and leg room all round and particularly in the rear. There are 380 litres of space in the boot which can be further expanded by folding the split rear seats. There is a great range of engines that includes a barely believable one litre, three-cylinder variant that feels and acts like a much bigger engine while delivering cheap tax and excellent fuel economy figures. It remains as reassuring and composed on the road as you would expect from a Golf.
