VW Polo 2009 - 2017
Summary
The VW Polo has made its name as the small car that likes to think big. VW have been canny enough never to deviate much from a winning formula but rather offer subtle updates of the Polo every few years to keep it fresh. The interior is unmistably VW in that it is refined, sedate and ergonomically excellent. The infotainment system is simple, intuitive and easy to navigate. There is a decent amount of kit as standard including start/stop technology and a rake of safety features. It is available as a three or five door while those looking for extra height can find it in the Crosspolo. Overall the interior is very spacious and there is enough room to accommodate four adults comfortably. There is 280 litres of space in the boot which is about on par with its rivals. There is a good range of petrol and diesel engines with the 1.4 TDI finding particular favour with Irish buyers thanks to its fine blend of performance and economy. Everything a small car should be.
