Summary
The XC90 was Volvo's first full-sized four-wheel-drive vehicle when it was launched way back in 2002 and the second-generation version is still an appealing car today. It comes with an extra set of seats in the rear that can accommodate two children with ease and is full of useful cubby-spaces. There is plenty of knee and head room for adults in the middle row of seats too. All XC90's come with a power-tailgate as standard and the boot is a generous size even with the two rows of rear seats in operation and is veritably cavernous with the seats folded flat. The suspension is comfortable while the optional 360 degree cameras make for easy parking. You have a choice of three engines; an impressive T8 plug-in hybrid, a T6 turbo petrol or a D5 diesel. The D5 in particular offers excellent performance figures and fuel economy of just under 50 miles per gallon.
